We perform a variety of simple procedures on-site, such as injections, x-rays and splinting.  Some examples of surgeries we perform are: Carpal Tunnel, tendon repair and reconstruction, joint replacement and reconstructive surgery.

 

Therapy Services

Hand therapy services are provided by Sentara Hand Therapy Centers. A Certified Hand Therapist from Sentara works in our office to provide care strictly to Norfolk Hand Surgery Center, Inc. patients. Referrals to other Certified Hand Therapists are also available.
 

Referrals

If your insurance requires a referral to see a specialist, we must have this by your appointment time or we will need to reschedule your visit. You can have your physician fax the referral to our office at (757) 461-8967. If you are not sure if your insurance requires a referral, please contact the Member Services phone number on your insurance card so that they will be able to determine this for you.
 

Worker's Compensation Policy

If you are being seen for a worker's compensation injury, our office must have written approval from your employer, nurse case manager, or insurance adjuster prior to your appointment. If this information is not received, your appointment will be rescheduled.

FAA Airmen Medical Examiner (AME) Services

If you desire an FAA Medical Certificate, please call for an appointment, and then complete the initial FAA MedXpress application at https://medxpress.faa.gov/MedXpress/ before your appointment. You need to print and bring the MedXpress Summary Printout and Confirmation number to your appointment. Without the confirmation number, the exam can not be uploaded into the FAA System.
